 “让高冷的数学能够贴近学生,让孩子感受到数学原来这样有趣。”抱着这样的初衷,上海美高学校在前不久举行趣味数学周庆祝斐波那契日Fibonacci Day活动。
"Let the students feel the spirit of mathematics, let the children feel mathematicsis unique and wonderful."With this in mind, Living Word Shanghai recently held a fun math week to celebrate Fibonacci Day.

11月23日是斐波那契纪念日,这一日是为了纪念中世纪最有影响力的数学家之一莱昂纳多·斐波纳契(Leonardo Fibonacci)

November 23 is Fibonacci Day, an annual holiday that honors one of the most influential mathematicians of the Middle Ages –Leonardo Fibonacci.

斐波那契数列,又称兔子数列,黄金分割数列,指的是这样一个数列:1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21……,在这个数列中,每一个数字的值都等于它前面两个数字的和。它是由意大利比萨市的斐波那契发现的,在现代物理、准晶体结构、化学等领域,斐波纳契数列都有直接的应用。

The Fibonacci sequence, also known as the rabbit sequence, the golden section sequence, refers to a sequence such as: 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21... In this sequence, the value of each number is equal to the sum of its two preceding Numbers. It was discovered by Fibonacci in Pisa, Italy, and has direct applications in modern physics, quasicrystal structure, chemistry and other fields.

 

看美高学子如何庆祝?

学生们通过学习有关斐波那契数列及其理论和实际用途的更多信息来开始新的一天。

The students started the day by learning more about the Fibonacci sequence and it’s the oretical and practical uses.

 

首先,孩子们观看了数学家亚瑟•本杰明(Arthur Benjamin)的Ted演讲,探索了奇妙的斐波那契数列的魔力。本杰明还展示了如何对斐波那契数进行加减运算以创建矩形和螺旋形,以及我们周围世界的美丽。然后,孩子们根据斐波那契数列创建属于自己的海报。

The students then watched a Ted Talk by mathematician Arthur Benjamin who explored the magic of the weird and wonderful Fibonacci sequence. Benjamin shows how Fibonacci numbers are added and subtracted to create rectangles and spirals, and the beauty in the world around us. The students then created posters based on Fibonacci sequence.

In these photos, we have the integration of creativity and imagination, and the combination of mathematics and aesthetics results in inquiry and thinking.

通过数学周的活动,让学生在参与活动中得到锻炼,让数学爱好者能一显身手,脱颖而出;使学生进一步感受数学与生活的密切联系,让每一个学生真正走进数学,感受数学,喜欢数学,在数学中得到快乐。还让孩子们领略了更多的数学的奥妙,从数学知识中绽放出思维的灵动。是一次十分有意义的活动!

During the week of mathematics activities, we allow the students in the activities to receive training so math lovers can display their talents and stand out; we help the students feel mathematics and further see its applications in life. We allow every student to truly analyze mathematics, be in touch with mathematics, apply mathematics, and find happiness in mathematics. We also allow the children to further discover the mysterious of math. From mathematical concepts, logical thinking is born. It is a very interactive and meaningful activity!
